Summer Adventure Program

Unlike other programs which offer a week-long, structured program during the summer at a local camp property, Trail Life encourages each unit to be highly creative in planning an adventure of their own.

  • provides flexibility to adults in scheduling time away from work
  • enables the youth to do something new and unique each summer
  • challenges the youth to use their recently learned skills in the field
  • encourages setting a long term goal to raise the funding for the adventure program
  • avoids the pay for a patch mentality of using summer camp as (merely) an extended classroom program
  • opens up opportunities for extended service projects or missions-type trips
  • maximizes fun based on local parks, camps and historical sites
  • ultimately tailor-able to the resources of the unit
